The play is set over four consecutive nights in a run down hotel room with four different couples staying each night who are connected in one way or another. Scenes are linked with housekeeping staff gossiping while remaking beds etc.
Each couple have their own reasons for staying at this hotel. The first two have not been away from their four year old twins since they were born so we have a nervous mum; the second young couple are on their first time away in a hotel with all that that entails; the third are on a stopover before embarking on a cruise, and the fourth couple - in a very poignant scene - are returning to the hotel for the first time since their honeymoon 50 years ago as the wife wants to see if it evokes any memories for her husband who has dementia.
