We pay a lot of attention to detail in our productions and the right props are a key element of this.

Ensuring we collect the right items for a show - telephones for the period, correct drinks bottles and so on - is very important and having dedicated help on props is of huge value to any production and makes for an interesting role.

Recent props found for productions include a cello, a six foot surfboard and a wind up gramophone amongst others!

The list

Gathering props usually starts with a list; either given to you by the director or one you may compile having read the script.

Then it’s off on a hunt for the right items; you might beg, borrow (but not steal!) to obtain what’s required - and there’s a budget if all else fails or it’s simply easier to buy something (within reason of course!) We do have our own well stocked props store near to our Quay Theatre base so your search may be a short one for some items.
